Write for us
We welcome considered proposals about rural sport and countryside life: playing places, club customs, local games, seasonal patterns or the objects through which sporting communities express themselves. A strong pitch makes a specific subject clear and explains what a reader will learn.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central question, the scope of the piece and why it suits Rural Sports Review. Explain what information the idea depends on, how you would handle local variation, and whether any permissions or image rights would be needed. A focused proposal is more useful than a broad list of possible topics.
Clear, careful writing
We value plain English, precise detail and a clear line between fact and interpretation. Proposals should not rely on invented scenes, unsupported claims or access that has not been agreed. Disclose relevant interests or relationships, and do not send confidential material.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial option. Include a short summary and enough information for us to assess the idea. Sending a pitch does not guarantee publication; we will consider proposals for fit, clarity and reader value.
